Emerson Model 330
This is one clean Emerson, model 330. Could not find alot of background information on this set on the net or in my reference book but it is one nice radio. It is extemely clean inside and out. It is not a small 'midget' case like many Emersons you see. The case is 8" high, 11-1/2" wide, and 6-1/4" deep. Real sharp looking radio with its gold face, red center on needle, and large fined grill. Clasic Art Deco.
Work Done
The radio has been completely recapped and works great. Original power plug is still installed because it was in decent shape. New electrolytic capacitors were installed to provide years of service. Tubes tested good and chassis is in great shape-rust free. Knobs have still have dark luster with no scratches-in great shape. Case was cleaned and polished. Original dial face and cover cleaned and polished. New rubber feet were installed to have case sit at proper hight. This radio has had the complete make over and is ready for many years of use. For a better definition on my idea of a complete restoration click here.
Good Points on radio
Love the large bullet knobs and the little curve fin that runs along under them and around the corner. Great styling along with the large finned grill. See picture to right. Detailed eye catching metal dial face, large bullet knobs, and its bakelite Art Deco look case makes this radio stand out. Not cracks or large scratches on case. Even though the case is in amazing shape for its age and still has its dark luster and 'marblization' finish to it your eyes still go right to the metal dial face. The knobs are in perfect shape and have a great glaze to them still. The original dial cover is slightly yellowed which nicely adds to the overall look of the radio. It is highly sensitive with just its built in antenna and looks like you could eat off of the chassie. Real nice set.

Bad Points on radio
Minor scratch here and there. Original fiber board back is glued to a new piece of fiber board for mounting to the radio. Original could no longer be mounted by itself. Hardly noticable and great for keeping original back with radio. Great idea, didn't come up with it but plan on using it in the future.
