1938 Zenith Console Model 12-S-265 "Shutter Dial"
Completely restored 1940 Zenith Model 12-S-265 "Shutter-Dial". This one is from Third Bay Radios personal collection and was redone to the best of our ability. This Zenith has all the desired features of that time era. It has it's original 12 tube chassis along with the original factory Zenith 6T5 green tuning eye. Original Zenith capacitor casings were restuffed with new capacitors and put back in original location to preserve matching part numbers. Old Electrolytic casings also hide new electrolytic capacitors perfectly. See under chassis picture below to see details of chassis rebuild. Chassis paint finish was just cleaned and left alone. Original Zenith tubes to chassis. Beautifully lacquer refinished cabinet. New correct style grille cloth for this model. Unreliable Ohmbar resistor has been replaced with new low key resistors and nostalgia mounting bracket. Original tags and stamps left intact on casing. Original parts matching 12" speaker was re-coned and delivers amazing sound and base with the acoustic adapter that slides in and out for additional base adjustment. It will rattle your windows with ease if not careful. Highly receptive, great sounding, and beautiful. The pictures say it all. It has an overpowering presence in any sized room and won't let anything else grab your eye. Casing is a work of art along with its sound quality. Measures: 43"h x 25"w x 16"d. Bad Points on radio
Radio is NOT all original. I like to think of it as restored back to working order without destroying the 'patina' or nostalgia of the set. Many purists of radio collecting would say better to leave untouched but I disagree. I believe this radio/art work is better off now than when it was found and can be enjoyed for what it was meant for, SAFELY.

I stand behind my work and have a 30 day warrantee on labor NOT PARTS. That means if it breaks in 30 days I will do my best to fix it but you pay for new parts and shipping costs. I do NOT think this is even needed. Please keep in mind this is a really old radio and does not sound or act like a modern radio. It is a show piece and should be treated as such.
